Scarlet Le Clair

Tell us a little about yourself:

I am from the South Wales valleys where I live with my husband, two children and a house full of pets.

Asides from writing, I love to read and take our dogs on walks.

I’m an author of several books that cover a variety of genres from PNR, to zombies, to Contemporary romance.

I’ve been a PA for three years and have built it into a successful little business.

I currently PA for 6 authors. I love my team.

Why Do you write?

I love reading, escaping to other worlds, joining the characters on their amazing journeys.

Writing seemed like the next step, a way to share my joy with others. To share my characters with readers who will hopefully love them as much as I do.

What genre do you write and why did you pick this genre?

I write across several genres. My first was Zombie horror because it’s my fave genre to read and write.

Now I write mostly paranormal romance because I love a hot alpha shifter or a really mean demon.

Though I have a mafia romance at the end of the year because I love a bad boy.

Tell us about your book

Chasing Demons is an age gap, paranormal romance. Where she falls in love with her best friend’s father and discovers a family secret that turns her world upside down.

How much time do you dedicate to your author career?

I try to write every day but sometime the motivation is lacking. My characters can be stubborn and don’t like to talk to me always.

How long on average does it take you to write your books?

I wrote the first draft of Chasing Demons in weeks. It was like I was possessed. I would say around three to four months for me to complete a story.

What is the best money you have ever spent on your author career?

A good editor and a good cover designer.

What is the toughest part of being an author?

For me, it’s finding the motivation when I hit writer’s block.

What is the best piece of advice you have for other authors?

Don’t give up, keep writing even if it’s a few words a day. Oh, and don’t read reviews, or at least, don’t take them to heart.

What is your favorite book?

Mark Tufo’s Zombie Fallout series, Cassandra Clare’s Shadow hunter series, and The reaper trilogy by Mina Carter.
